Europanetzwerk Digital "19 + 1 Female Artists on 100 Years of Women's Suffrage" | Simon Schwartz (Graphic Novel) "The Parliament - 45 Lives for Democracy"

Tue, 13.07.2021

12:30 PM - 2:00 PM

Together with the Liaison Office of the German Bundestag, the Europanetzwerk Deutsch invites you to a virtual visit of the exhibitions "19 + 1 Female Artists on 100 Years of Women's Suffrage" | Simon Schwartz (Graphic Novel) "The Parliament - 45 Lives for Democracy" | Serpentina Hagner "Short History of a Self-Evident Fact - 100 Years of Women's Suffrage in Germany”.

During this virtual guided tour, you will gain insight into the narratives and perspectives of nineteen female artists around the topic of women's suffrage; a topic that has not lost any of its contemporary relevance. The graphic novel by Simon Schwartz, published in 2019, provides a different perspective on the history of German democracy. The re-narrated biographies of 45 parliamentarians - stylistically sharp, with concise quotations and terse, to-the-point text passages - open up a new understanding of the personal fates of the MPs and their significance for German history.
