Media freedom is the key prerequisite for a sustainable and diverse media landscape in the European Union. The Goethe-Institut Brussels  and its project partner the Association of European Journalists Belgium (AEJ) would therefore like to offer an opportunity to journalists and media professionals from the European Union to conduct independent and individual research on a self chosen topic. In our second residency, the focus is on the issue of sustainability - disinformation.

Media or press and information freedom are indispensable in the European Union. That is why the Goethe-Institut Belgium and AEJ Belgium support media professionals and journalists. The residency programme gives journalists an opportunity to conduct research and investigative work for four weeks while in residence in Brussels. The aim of the research is a (print or online) publication on the topic of sustainability - disinformation.

The programme is geared to journalists from Europe and aims to promote independent journalism as well as the social discussion of media freedom through contributions by journalists.
