Nicola Würffel is Professor of German as a Foreign Language with a focus on didactics / methodology at the Herder Institute at Leipzig University since 2016. Before that, she held the professorship for New Media Didactics at the PH-Heidelberg. Her research and teaching focus is on the digitization of foreign language teaching (including blended learning, virtual reality), cooperative learning, learning strategies and professionalization of prospective DaF / DaZ teachers. Methodically, her focus is on language teaching and learning as well as media didactic research. She has been working as an international trainer since 2000 and was a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Central Office for Schools Abroad until 2019.
