Fernando Baldraia concluded his bachelor and licensure in history at Universidade de São Paulo (USP) in 2003, after already being working as a History teacher by the NGO Educafro (Educação e cidadania de afro- descendentes e carentes). In 2004 work with the idealization, building and coordination of the Barracão Centro Cultural, a grass-roots organization based on a library-capoeira school situated in the periphery of Osasco (São Paulo), which led him to assist in the foundation of the Capoeira Group Malta Brasil Capoeira, in Bonn (Germany). In 2009 started his Master degree in Interdisciplinary Latin-American Studies at the Freie Universität Berlin, which he concluded with his thesis “Der Rahmen des unmöglichen. Zur reflexion über eine radikale Geschichtlichkeit – Geschichtsschreibung in der soziologischen Debatte über Rassismus und Antirassismus in Brasilien“. Recently Fernando finished his doctoral degree in history at Freie Universität Berlin, focusing on the the black atlantic and the recent brazilian historiography of slavery.
