Ana Navas (Quito, 1984) is a Venezuelan-Ecuadorian visual artist. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Karlsruhe Germany from the class of professor Franz Ackermann and was a participant of the program De Ateliers in Amsterdam in the 2012-2014 period. She was granted a scholarship from the Kunststiftung Baden-Württemberg in Germany in 2014 and participated in artist’s residency programs such as Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes México (2011), Centre Européen d’ Actions Artistiques Contemporaines Strasbourg (2015), Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores de México (2016) and Cité Internationale des Arts Paris (2017). Navas’ work has been widely exhibited in Europe and Latin America in solo and group presentations.
Ana Navas will be the 7th artist to participate in the residency program of the Goethe Institut Salvador-Bahia. Her residency will happen from July 5th to August 20th 2016 and it is done in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut Caracas.
