Gunther Schumann

Gunther Schumann (*01/12/1987 in Berlin, Germany) is a graphic artist, illustrator, and mural painter, who has been working and living in Halle (Saale) Germany since 2009. Schumann did his Bachelor´s degree between 2009 and 2015 at Burg Giebichenstein, University of Arts in Halle and studied from 2012 to 2013 at the Mimar Sinan Güzel Sanatlar Üniversitesi in Istanbul.
 
Notable exhibitions include Wagemutig, short film festival Halle in 2016; Fantifantastisch, group exhibition, Kunststiftung Sachsen-Anhalt, Halle 2016 - 2017; Group exhibition, Freiraumgalerie, Halle 2016; utopias of everyday life, group exhibition, Comicsalon Erlangen, Erlangen in 2016; All You Can Paint Effects exhibition, Freiraumgalerie, Halle in 2015; design award exhibition, Kunststiftung Sachsen-Anhalt, Halle in 2015; Group exhibition, Galerie Solitaire, Berlin, Berlin in 2014; Group exhibition, Kooperatif Art Space, Istanbul, Istanbul in 2013; Group exhibition, Bauhaus, Dessau 06/ 2012. Furthermore he was working on the project Graphic Short Stories of everyday life at Goethe Institut Istanbul in 2015.
 
Gunther was nominated for Kurzsüchtig at the short film festival in Leipzig in 06/ 2016 and won the 2nd place at the One-Take Film Festival in Vienna in 2016. He was also nominated for the Design Award in Halle in 2015. From 02 – 05/ 2016 he has been working in Halle with a scholarship from Kunststiftung Sachsen-Anhalt.
 
Gunther Schumann is receiving a scholarship from Kunststiftung Sachsen-Anhalt and is a resident at Vila Sul.
