Nina Hoss (Barbara; Phoenix) stars in Golden Bear winner Radu Jude’s latest, the “giddy Romanian experiment” (The Guardian at Locarno) Do Not Expect Too Much of the End of the World. The German-Slovenian-French co-production Not A Word by Hanna Slak features Berlinale winner Maren Eggert (I’m Your Man at TIFF21; The Dreamed Path at TIFF16), and Maryam Zaree (Undine). Berlinale 2023 hit on the German Oscar longlist The Teacher’s Lounge by Ilker Çatak will make its North American premiere. Wim Wenders brings his celebrated new Japan-set film Perfect Days to TIFF from Cannes, while Sara Summa’s very personal feature Arthur and Diana takes us on a family road trip from Berlin to Paris. The world premiere of the Iranian-German-French film Achilles by Farhad Delaram has been invited into TIFF’s prestigious Discovery program.
