As part of the MOTIVE Crime & Mystery Festival, Cologne-based author Melanie Raabe & local Toronto author and journalist Elizabeth Renzetti are on the case! Come join us as we investigate the trials and triumphs of writing and performing across different mediums. 

After a thrilling conversation with Melanie Raabe, author of award-wining mystery novel The Shadow ​and host of popular podcast Raabe & Kampf, as well as Elizabeth Renzetti, Globe & Mail columnist and author of Shrewed, join us for a casual brunch and light refreshments.

Melanie Raabe

is a German author based in the city of cologne. She debuted with psychological thriller The Trap in 2015, followed by The Stranger (2016), The Shadow (2018) and The Woods (2019). Her latest work is a non-fiction book on creativity. Raabe’s novels are published in more than 20 countries.

Elizabeth renzetti

is a national columnist with The Globe and Mail. Elizabeth’s first novel, Based on a True Story, was published by House of Anansi Press in June 2014, and became a national bestseller. Her collection of original essays, Shrewed, was published in March, 2018 by House of Anansi Press. She lives in Toronto, Canada.
