By Andres Veiel, Germany, 107 min.
In German with English subtitles.

Thirty years after his death, documentary filmmaker Andres Veiel takes a look at the life, art and politics of influential, controversial German artist Joseph Beuys. Using previously unpublished audio and film footage Veiel creates an associative, loose portrait including personal aspects of his childhood, his positions on art, film extracts of this art happenings (including one where he explains art to a dead hare), and scenes of his early involvement in the Green party.

“Andres Veiel dedicates one of the most exciting documentaries of the last few years to the brilliant artist Joseph Beuys.” – Die Welt
