When Sophie, the family matriarch dies, the habitual reunion at the summer house transforms into family alliances and quiet discord about the future of the garden. While the children run free, with their own internal alliances and rules, the adults manoeuvre themselves to try to get the best they can. A film with a summerly leisurely feel to it and a good dose of subtle humour and bite.
