Deutscher Filmklub is back and to kick of 2017, we will be watching the 1930 classic, "The Blue Angel" (Der blaue Engel). Directed by Josef von Sternberg and starring Emil Jannings, Marlene Dietrich and Kurt Gerron, "The Blue Angel" is a tragicomedy set in Weimar Germany and tells the story of a respectable professor and his transformation to a cabaret clown and descent into madness.

The film will be shown in German with English subtitles. The discussion will be moderated by Sven Pinczewski.
