For our second Deutscher Filmklub of 2017, we are watching Fitzcarraldo, a 1982 movie by acclaimed director Werner Herzog. It tells the story of Brian Sweeney Fitzgerald – “Fitzcarraldo”, played by Klaus Kinski, who attempts the impossible and wants to build an opera house in the jungle of Peru.

Werner Herzog (1942 in Munich) is a famous German film and opera director, producer, actor and writer. The Time Magazine 2009 counted him to the 100 most influential persons and he won numerous awards.

The film will be shown in German with English subtitles. Afterwards there will be a moderated discussion.
