City tour + film night + art project

Meeting Point: AGO

Co-produced by ImagineNATIVE & Goethe-Institut with AWIAS

For this year’s imagineNATIVE Festival, A Wall is a Screen returns to Toronto after their first collaboration with the Goethe-Institut for Nuit Blanche 2014. This time, the Hamburg film collective has partnered with Toronto's Indigenous Film Festival to present its first event to feature all Indigenous-made short films. Aside from the first meeting point, the screening locations and the films are secret, enhancing the excitement for the participating audience. The selection of works interacts with the surrounding urban environment and will Indigenize Toronto’s cityscape in unexpected ways.

The entire event takes approximately 90 minutes and will go ahead rain or shine (or snow). Please dress appropriately for the day’s weather and arrive on time as the walk will leave promptly after the first screening.

On the Friday evening following the tour, the A Wall is a Screen team will do a contextualising Culture talks @ Goethe.

Based in Hamburg, Germany, A Wall Is a Screen is an organization that transforms the way we look at and interact with the city around us. Part walking tour, part film screening, this exciting event projects short films onto various surfaces along a designated urban path.
