Considered a member of the Berlin School, Angela Schanelec’s latest film premiered at the 2019 Berlinale where it won best director award, and typical for her films, divided both the public and critics alike. Having disappeared for a week, Astrid’s 13-year-old son Phillip returns home without saying a word. Both his mother and teachers suspect his disappearance may be related to the loss of his father. As life gradually returns to normal, Astrid finds herself confronted with a new perspective on her existence, her career and ideas on art.
