The public performance will be held outdoors on the Place des Arts Esplanade, presented by students from the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal and the École supérieure de ballet du Québec.

The "Nelken Line" Project

In 2017, in a bid to perpetuate the legacy of the founder of dance-theatre, the Pina Bausch Foundation launched the Nelken Line Project, which has since brought together thousands of dance lovers around the world. The concept is simple: through a tutorial, participants learn a movement sequence from Bausch’s iconic work Nelken, then gather to dance it together in a public space. The performance is filmed and the video is sent to the foundation, which archives and distributes it, creating a moving international community that collectively shares in dancing the profound humanity of Pina Bausch.
