Haus-Kino at Goethe-Institut Montreal

2023, the Goethe-Institut Montreal is hosting a NAO robot and takes this as an opportunity for a multi-perspective examination of the topic of robotics, artificial intelligence and human-machine interactions.

Artificial intelligence is already omnipresent - we encounter it every day and always at the latest when we go online. Social networks would be inconceivable and impossible to coordinate without AI. But where are the boundaries here? Who takes care of keeping our social networks "clean"? Who makes sure that AI networks, like ChatGPT are less toxic? What if we lived with androids? Who would they be for us? Service providers or family members? Or both?
While technology is advancing worldwide faster than the laws are being written, questions arise about ethics and aesthetics: What kind of world do we actually want to live in in the future?

The film series brings together feature films, documentaries and short films that address these very questions from different perspectives and with different focus. The selected films approach these questions in an innovative, provocative, but also humorous way and question the sustainability of our value systems for a digitalized and high-tech future.
