Republic of the Other started with the urgency to express resistance against the generalized right wing tendency, with nation states and borders strengthening with great force worldwide and with the conviction that they/we have something to contribute to the discussion.
The goal for artists Xenia Fink, Guillermo Trejo and Jinny Yu is to maintain individual practices and to weave them together into new collaborative works. This in situ installation uses language as a common thread through all three artists’ practices and was developed specifically for the Gallery 101 space. It is made up of a series of collaborative text-based posters realized in letterpress and a wall sized drawing mapping out their principal concepts of border with the title
The Final Frontier is Interior.
