Synopsis:
Paul has made his way from Cameroon across the Sahara to the Moroccan coast where he now lives in a forest waiting to cross the Mediterranean. This is where he meets filmmaker Jakob. Soon afterwards, Paul manages to cross over to Spain. He survives - but half of his companions die on this tragic 50 hour odyssey. After being held in a deportation centre, Paul meets Jakob again in Spain. When Paul decides to continue on to Germany, Jakob has to decide: will he become an active part of Paul's pursuit of a better life or remain a detached documentary filmmaker?

Director Jakob Preuss will be present during the projections.They are presented as part of the program of the 34e Festival international de cinéma Vues d’Afrique.
 

Jakob Preuss

Jakob Preuss, born 1975 in Berlin, is a documentary filmmaker. His last film “The Other Chelsea” won the Grimme-Award in Germany. Jakob Preuss also works in the political arena. 
He holds a law degree from the Sorbonne in Paris and a Masters degree from the College of Europe, Natolin.
