Based on the unique life of German expressionist painter Paula Modersohn-Becker (1876- 1906), an unconventional woman who fought to make art on her own terms. Paula Becker moves to the artists’ colony Worpswede, where she meets her future husband Otto Modersohn and befriends Clara Westhoff and Rainer Maria Rilke. However, domestic frustrations and lack of recognition push her to move on.
