EVERYONE ELSE tells the story of Gitti and Chris, an odd couple battling their way through a holiday of secluded togetherness. A subtly humorous, cruelly meticulous study of the contradictory desires of a couple searching for their own identity. An intimate love story that plunges into the depths of a relationship and reflects the emotional disorientation of an entire generation.

Maren Ade was born 1976 in Karlsruhe. She studied cinema at the University of Film and Television Munich. In 2016 she co-founded production company Komplizen Film with a fellow graduate.
TONI ERDMANN by Maren Ade, which celebrated its premiere in the Cannes Competition 2016, won the European and German Film Awards and was nominated for a Golden Globe, César, BAFTA and Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. The next year, Ade served as a member of the official competition jury at the 70th Cannes International Film Festival. Ade is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
The Berlin production company Komplizen Film focuses on the development of feature films, international and high-end series. It stands behind numerous filmmakers such as Maren Ade, Ulrich Köhler and Valeska Grisebach, but also emerging artists like Xaver Böhm, who presented his debut film O BEAUTIFUL NIGHT at the Berlinale 2019. Komplizen Film produces local films for an international audience, films that take risks. They work with filmmakers distinguished by a unique signature and believe in long-term cooperation with directors.
