SIMO KAPING
Graduated with a Master I in Performing Arts and Cinematography Danielle Simo Kaping is one of the youngest female comedy artists in Cameroon. She started learning on theater stages and she took part in plays such as "Tout bas si bas" by Koulsy Lamko staged by Tami Yoba and "Tu comprends? Verstehste" with the German troup Theaterhaus Ensemble during their stay in Cameroon. Her new show "Elles au pluriel", which she presents as part of Goethe-Decouverte, is a set of texts that mostly deal with women. In the writing, the text relies on grammatical tools such as repetition, comparison, hyperbole to induce laughing. We find black humor, self-mockery, provocation and proverbs. The general theme which is feminist activism allows this show to paint differently the fabulous human being the woman is, with her weaknesses and assets.
