Fashion in Cameroon - a conclusion but no end...

At the end of 2020, a PASCH fashion competition was announced in all PASCH schools in Cameroon. Other secondary schools also received the call for entries and applied by submitting a drawing of a model they would like to produce using PASCH fabric by April 2021. The call was in the form of a video that featured three professional mode designers: Pasma Yapumfout of PASMA Couture, Louis Fame of Louis Fame Clothing and Franck Cédric Bimalé of Mougnal's Creations.

All candidates registered for the competition were then given a PASCH pagne to make their models by June 2021.

After the sewing phase, a photo shoot was organised from 28 to 30 June 2021 with nearly 100 applicants who were able to complete their models in time. On Facebook, students could vote for the best models from their city by 'like'. After the end of the 'like' competition, the three aforementioned fashion designers as a jury selected the 23 finalists of the PASCH fashion competition on the basis of defined criteria and taking into account those qualified through Facebook voting.

The final took place on 27 October 2021 during the PASCH Day at the Lycée Bilingue de Bepanda. At the end of this great fashion adventure, 4 students emerged as winners, true PASCH Miss and Masters who shone through their creativity and stunning models.

These 4 winners were invited to the Goethe-Institut Cameroon in Yaoundé on 11 February 2022 to work on a fashion workshop with Mougnal's Creations and PASMA Couture as part of the Youth Festival. The workshop participants were allowed to get a taste of the big fashion world: how to start an idea for a collection, which colours, materials, patterns and so on to use.

A colourful adventure comes to an end, but as they often say, it is only a conclusion, not the end.
