Project Assistant on a part-time basis

The Goethe-Institut Cameroon is looking for a Project Assistant on a part-time basis to support the planning, organization, documentation and evaluation of projects for the German Cooperation (BKD) from 01.11.2021 (or later) until 31.10.2022.

The Goethe-Institut e.V. is an organization of the Federal Republic of Germany, whose objectives are to promote the knowledge of the German language abroad, to maintain international cultural collaborations and to disseminate a comprehensive image of Germany through information on the cultural, social and political life of the country.

  • Collaboration in the supervision of the BKD network with its partner schools in Cameroon, especially communication, coaching and guidance of teachers and students as well as data base processing.
  • Collaboration in the conceptual development, organization and implementation of projects within the BKD framework.
  • Support in the selection, organization and implementation of scholarship programs.
  • Collaboration to boost the image of the BKD and improve its visibility (via the website and social media).
  • Collaboration in administrative tasks, for instance; accounting, budget management and statistics.
  • Collaboration in the selection, ordering and shipping of didactic and methodological materials for the teaching of German.
  • Handling general office tasks and small translations.
  • Close coordination with the BKD pedagogical advisor and the Head of the language department. 

  • Degree holder (Bachelor's degree) in Germanic Studies or in the "DaF" field (teaching German as a foreign language).
  • Didactic and methodological competence in teaching German as a foreign language in theory and practice.
  • Basic experience in project management.
  • Computer skills (MS-Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and willingness to familiarize oneself with the Goethe-Institut software systems.
  • Have a very good command of French and German and good knowledge of English.
  • Possess very good communication skills.
  • Very good social and intercultural skills.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently.
