Ebony Théâtre is a young artistic troupe created in 2017 in Douala and made up of young artists with a strong experience both in the development of theater projects and in the organization of cultural events. It is supported by many professionals and has participated in various festivals since its inception. The play "Nous étions assis sur le rivage du monde" is the adaptation of a text by José Pliya, conceived in 2003 in Martinique and staged by Isaac Iboi. A woman returns to her country and, on the beach of her childhood, makes the troubling encounter of an unknown person lying on the sand who asks her to leave. The following dialogue addresses the theme of difference in many facets: culture, skin color, gender, morality.
