Cysoul, born Cyril Fouda Etoundi, was already a chorister as early as 9 years old. He won his first music contest at 11, accompanied by his secondary school’s orchestra. At 12, he was a regular at cabarets in Yaounde and was learning stage performance. At 18, he stopped school to focus on music. At 19, he won the Goethe Découverte 2019, being the youngest amongst the winners. This precocious artist’s love story with music was nurtured by orchestras such as Akanga Art, Mozart Music Class and Djawal Group. Cysoul created the 4ROARZ group with friends and later headed to Douala in 2017, where he met Deejay LB, a beat maker. The duo produced 23 songs of varying styles and caught the eye of Taphis, Tenor’s manager. Under his wing, they released two singles: “Bouge” and “C’est dans l’eau“. The album he will be premiering as part of Goethe-Découverte 2019 is a fusion of acoustic, light French music, soul and world music.
