Marius Nya
Marius Deschamps Nya Nana was born in Douala in 1996 where he received his elementary, secondary and university education in communication. In high school he discovers his passion for theatre while taking part in initiatives like "Théâtralement vôtre" and "Ados en scène". Later on he becomes a member of the theatre company Koz’art and stars in numerous plays. He draws his influences from Cameroonian greats such as Philémon Black Ondoua, Martin Ambara and Eric Delphin Kwegoue but gradually he creates his own projects and delivers his take on Hottentote Venus when staging the play Saartjie Baartman. With this production Marius Deschamps Nya Nana takes a critical stance on colonialism and the conservation of African cultural treasures in Western museums in particular.!!
