It used to be a common conviction that "a trade in hand finds gold in every land". After all, there was always hair to be cut, bread to baked and roofs to tile, no matter if times were good or hard. But with technological progress the mechanical, electrical and electronical devices designed to help humans have started to replace them. Or how many rope makers, blacksmiths do you count among your friends? Nevertheless, artisanship is not dead quite yet: Both in Germany and China, there are still plenty of people who prefer life as a barber, beekeeper or baker to that of a white collar worker. For this focus, we've met up with them and asked them about their trade.
