Arrangements in tropical cyclone situations
Hongkong

1. Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is in force BEFORE the start of classes/exams(classes for adults and teenagers)
 
If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is in force 3 hours before the start of classes/exams, these classes/exams will be cancelled.
 
Mon – Fri afternoon classes for teenagers (4:30 PM – 6:00 PM)
If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is still in force at 1:30 PM, the afternoon classes will be cancelled.

Mon – Fri evening classes (6:30 PM – 9:40 PM)
If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is still in force at 3:30 PM, the evening classes will be cancelled.
 
Sat & Sun morning classes (10:00 AM – 1:10 PM)
If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is still in force at 7:00 AM, the morning classes will be cancelled.
 
Sat & Sun afternoon classes (2:30 PM – 5:40 PM)
If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is still in force at 11:30 AM, the afternoon classes will be cancelled.
 
2. Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is in force DURING classes that have already startedclasses for adults and teenagers)
 
If Typhoon Signal No. 8 (or above) is in force during classes that have already started, these classes will immediately be cancelled.

3. Adverse Weather Conditions during Children’s Classes 

3.1 Should the Red or Black Rainstorm Signal, or Typhoon Signal 8 or above be hoisted 3 hours before children’s classes are scheduled to start, they will be cancelled.
Mon-Sun afternoon classes for children starting at 4:30 PM: If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is still in force at 1:30 PM, the afternoon classes will be cancelled.
Sat-Sun morning classes for children starting at 10:00 AM: If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is still in force at 7:00 AM, the morning classes will be cancelled.
Sat-Sun afternoon classes for children starting at 2:30 PM: If Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is still in force at 11:30 AM, the afternoon classes will be cancelled.
 
3.2 Children’s classes that have already started will be immediately dismissed when the Red or Black Rainstorm Signal, or Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is hoisted. Students remain where they are until the warning is lowered.
 
3.3 Only for Hans Hase Courses with children aged 4-5 years: Should Typhoon Signal No. 3 be hoisted, they will be cancelled.
 
4. Official Announcements by the Hong Kong Observatory 
 
When there is an official announcement by the Hong Kong Observatory that Typhoon Signal No. 8 (or above) will be put in force at 6:00 PM, the evening classes for that day will be cancelled.
 
When there is an official announcement by the Hong Kong Observatory that Typhoon Signal No. 8 (or above) will be put in force during a class (Mon-Sun: 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM, Mon-Fri: 6:30 PM – 9:40 PM, Sat & Sun 10:00 AM – 1:10 PM, Sat & Sun 2:30 PM – 5:40 PM), these classes will be cancelled 30 minutes before the signal will be put in force.
 
5. There will be no make-up classes or refunds for classes that were cancelled due to the above-mentioned situations.
