Comics in Germany are characterised by great diversity and are also successful and recognised on an international level. Especially in recent decades, numerous young artists have been able to inspire children and adults alike with their individual visual languages.
In the April exhibition, we will showcase some popular children's comics such as Kiste
by Patrick Wirbeleit, Uwe Heidschötter, Q-R-T
by Ferdinand Lutz, or Toni
by Philip Waechter, as well as comics and graphic novels for the older audience. Besides classic motifs such as friendship and biography, there are also other, more particular themes. You will thus find comics about a plastic bag, a passive-aggressive cactus and neighbours who come from another planet - in short, a colourful and inviting mix.
The books on display can be reserved and will be available to borrow from 3 May. A full list of books on display can be found here.
For all readers who don't want to wait any longer to satisfy their reading hunger, we invite them to browse through our comic section in the library - these comics can be borrowed right away.
