Father's Day = Science Day!

To mark Father's Day, the Goethe-Institut is inviting inquisitive children with their fathers/parents to an open day at the Digital Kinder University on Sunday, 21st June 2020. From 2:30PM to 6PM, young future scientists and their guardians can enrol in the "university", attend trial lectures and seminars, conduct experiments together and of course, learn some German!

Children have a thousand questions that are simple - but sometimes difficult for adults to answer. How does a self-driving car drive? Why does it rustle inside the shell? What do a plane and a tin can have in common? How does a 3D printer work? When it comes to technical or scientific questions, they often ask their daddy. But even fathers don't know everything. At the Goethe-Institut's Digital Kinder University, curious kids aged between eight and twelve can look for answers on their own, explore natural phenomena and technologies, learn their first words in German in a playful way and at the same time, advance from bachelor to doctor! In the faculties "Humankind", "Nature" and "Technology", there are 15 lectures each with videos and corresponding tasks for learning German.
So that fathers (and mothers too!) can become a little smarter and know what their children are learning at university, the Goethe-Institut invites them and their children to an open day at the Digital Kinder University on 21st June to mark Father's Day.

Here's a glimpse of what parents and children will experience that day:
Children attend exciting lectures and workshops, while parents learn how to enrol their child in the "university". Later, parents and child get together to conduct cool experiments at the Goethe-Lab, learn their first German words at the Language Lab, explore German inventions at the Knowledge Bar and watch books come to life in the AR Challenge!

As a small Father's Day present, each dad receives a discount of HKD 300 for himself and/or his child when enrolling in a summer intensive course.
