All concerts will be followed by an informal Q & A discussion with performers and curators.

In Dialogue with Beethoven 2020 concert no. 1: LEGACY

This program examines such concepts as “legacy” and “inspiration” through transcriptions and miniaturisations of Beethoven’s symphonies by the likes of Franz Liszt, as well as Beethoven’s lingering presence across generations of composers and popular musicians.

Linda Yim - Piano

Linda Yim Currently teaches at the Hong Kong Baptist University and The Hong Kong University, Linda is proactive in promoting classical and modern music education.  Yim graduated from the Hong Kong Baptist University, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, the Royal College of Music in London and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney where she obtained her Master of Music Studies degree majoring in piano.

Shelley Ng - Piano*  

   Internationally acclaimed pianist Shelley Ng has performed as a soloist and chamber musician on three continents in venues including Carnegie Hall, the Seiji Ozawa Hall at Tanglewood, Harris Hall in Aspen, Milton Court and the St. James Church-Piccadilly in London, the Hong Kong City Hall, Hong Kong Cultural Center, and the Queen Elizabeth Stadium. She was an Instrumental Piano Fellow at the prestigious Tanglewood Festival in 2018, 2019 and has participated in other renowned international festivals such as the Aspen Music Festival and The Modern Academy as a performer fellow.

William Lane - Artistic Director & Viola 

  Founder of HKNME, William Lane performs as a soloist, orchestral and chamber musician in Australia, Asia, Europe and North America. He studied under Jan Sedivka, Bruno Giuranna and Garth Knox, as well as in Germany at the International Ensemble Modern Academy, and in Switzerland at the Lucerne Festival Academy under Pierre Boulez.
