TO DEFEND THE TERRITORY OF BUENAVENTURA: TEMÍSTOCLES MACHADO ARCHIVE AND MONUMENT

Liliana Angulo Cortés (Colombia)

Temístocles Machado (1959-2018) devoted his life to the defense of the Isla de la Paz district, a territory coveted, among others, by private companies that seek to give it a commercial use. The laboratory named after him will work with the community based on the legacy of 'Don Temis'. Participants will hear his testimonies, learn about his archive, and walk the roads of settlement and resistance. Besides, they will build a monument and paint murals. The laboratory and its actions seek to help dispel the fear that violent people tried to inoculate in the community with the murder of Temístocles Machado. The idea is to build tactics for neutralizing strategies of terror and pay tribute to his work.

THE PEOPLE'S COLISEUM

CaldodeCultivo (Colombia-Spain)

This collective aims to explore the importance of Coliseo El Pueblo, in Cali, as a space of training, and temporarily turn it into a sort of agora-coliseum, i.e., a scenario for training in sports and citizenship, which give shape to the various struggles of the people. The aim is to make a experimental film that will give an account of the creation of a new sport called "class struggle," a bodily and theoretical discipline, interdisciplinary and cross-cutting, which will interact with the different physical activities that are already taking place in this area.
