Lucrecia Martel (Argentina)

Diego de Zama is doomed to wait. Posted on to a remote Paraguayan moorland at the end of the 18th century, this American official of the Spanish crown awaits a transfer that never arrives. Zama (2017) is inspired by the character created by writer Antonio di Benedetto in the novel of the same name. Lucrecia Martel's film, a co-production of 10 countries, was acclaimed by the critics and the audience at the 74th edition of the International Film Festival in Venice. Since its premiere, it has obtained numerous awards and was nominated as Best Ibero-American Film at the Goya and Platino
awards, as well as being the Argentinian candidate for the Oscar awards this year.

One moment is enough to put an end to Veronica's peace of mind. Right when she looks down while driving, she runs over someone. She doesn't know whether it was an animal or a person, but she doesn't leave the car. She moves on. However, guilt will make her turn back. The Headless Woman (2008) is the third feature film of the so-called Salta Trilogy. The Swamp (2001) is the first work of this series, followed by The Holy Girl (2004). These films take place in the province of Salta, in northwestern Argentina, where Lucrecia Martel was born. Headless Woman was co-produced between Argentina, France, Italy, and Spain, and was nominated to the Palm d'Or at the Cannes Festival.

Premiere of the documentary Juntos somos más, produced by Puerto Creativo and Colectivo Comunicaciones En PUJA, as part of the project Postcards of the Future (Postales del Futuro) by Más Arte Más Acción. This documentary is a reflection on the events of the strike that took place in Buenaventura between May and June 2017. Here, the ideas of port and community are woven into a conversation between different local artists that participated in the production of a song about resistance, the value of social protest as an element to claim their rights, and the union of the inhabitants of the territory despite any difference. Afterwards, members of Puerto Creativo and from En PUJA will talk to audiovisual filmmakers from the Yemayá production company and social leaders from Buenaventura about the various movements, collectives, and forms of resistance in this city.

Víctor González Urrutia (Colombia)

A family displaced by violence arrives at Villapaz, Jamundí, after wandering around several towns. There they will try to rebuild their lives; however, this will not be easy, because the inhabitants of this village in Valle del Cauca also suffer the harassment of criminal gangs. War in this region is a subject that González Urrutia cannot avoid in his filmography. This film was made by Gufilms, the audiovisual production company created by Víctor himself, and was part of the International Film Festival in Cali in its 2014 edition. The Valle del Cauca filmmaker will be present during the exhibition of the film.
