The Weeks of the German Language are organized annually by the Embassies of Austria, Germany and Switzerland and the Goethe-Institut Cyprus. The events aim to bring audiences closer to the German language and the culture of the German-speaking countries, as well as to highlight the benefits of multilingualism and intercultural exchange.

This year the Weeks of the German Language will launch with an open-air event at Faneromeni Square in Nicosia on 23 October 2022 and conclude on 28 November 2022. During this time, a series of activities and events related to the German language and the culture of each country will take place all over the island: film screenings, concerts, dance performances, lectures, culinary events and more. For the first time, a video competition for young students of the German language will also be organized.

For the first time, the Goethe-Institut Cyprus organised a competition for young learners of the German language aged 13–18. We have asked you to present what concerns, moves, impresses or even worries you in a short video. The winners got some cool prizes.
