 The ISOP and the Königin-Charlotte-Gymnasium Stuttgart become Partner Schools

The collaboration between the Goethe-Institut Cyprus and the International School of Paphos (ISOP) within the framework of PASCH ("Schools: Partners for the future") is growing continuously, as the ISOP starts a partnership with the Königin-Charlotte-Gymnasium Stuttgart, Germany.

The initiative Schools: Partners for the future (PASCH) strengthens and connects a global network of more than 1,800 partner schools that have a special connection to Germany. Schools that place a high value on German can benefit by becoming part of the international PASCH community and having their teachers and students, as well as the schools themselves, carry out exchange activities and collaborate with each other. Since the induction of ISOP to the PASCH network in 2019, its staff and students had the opportunity to enhance their teaching and learning through training seminars, scholarships and various cultural projects.

Through the recently agreed partnership of ISOP with the Königin-Charlotte-Gymnasium in Stuttgart, new prospects and learning opportunities are opening up. Some ISOP students are already engaged with students from the German school in a joint project regarding important matters related to the pandemic, migration and the European Union, while more joint activities will follow. Additionally, the Goethe-Institut Cyprus will reward two German language learners with a 2-week digital camp scholarship that will take place this summer.

German has been an integral part of ISOP’s mainstream Secondary School programme since its foundation in 1987. Experiences like the current exchange project enhance students´ level of German as well as their general knowledge, but the benefits are much greater. The international interaction is an excellent opportunity for students to apply their knowledge in a real-life situation, expand their skills in cooperation with others and commit to intercultural exchange. Furthermore, PASCH offers young people valuable qualifications that will serve them well in the longer term, laying the foundations for studying in Germany and improving future career prospects.

  • The International School of Paphos (ISOP) is a co-educational, English-Medium, private school with approximately 780 pupils from currently 42 different countries. It provides for all age groups from Kindergarten to A-Level/Apolytirion.
