Generation A = Algorithmus
In addition to the advantages of Artificial Intelligence, there is a real risk that the use of these new technological tools by governments or companies will have a negative impact on human rights, including the right to privacy. This right is undermined by the use of facial recognition in public and the way in which various AI systems rely upon the collection and processing of personal data. AI is also used to predict crimes and recidivism risks - showing signs of racial and minority bias. NGOs are doing important work illuminating AI’s risks to human rights and liberties. But very often laws and legal frameworks that can deal with AI’s emergent risks are absent.
