The language levels of the German online courses
Just like the classroom courses at the Goethe-Institut, you can choose between any of the six consecutive levels of difficulty: A1-C2. To take part in a German online course at level A1, you do not need any prior knowledge of German. For a German online course at level A2, you need level A1 German skills. For a German online course at level B1, you need level A2 German skills. For a German online course at level B2, you need level B1 German skills. For a German online course at level C1, you need level B2 German skills. For a German online course at level C2, you need level C1 German skills.

A German online course lasts between 1 and 6 months, depending on which German online course you choose to learn German with.
To learn German with one of our German online courses, you need a PC, a laptop or a tablet (except German Individual Online) with an Internet connection and the latest version of Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, Firefox or Apple Safari, an email address and, a headset with a microphone.
Yes, after completing a German online course, you can continue learning German in a classroom course (Intensive German or German in the Evening / Morning / at the Weekend). The right classroom course for you will be identified in our free placement test for classroom courses. Please notice that we cannot guarantee a direct transition from a German online course level to the next level in a classroom course.

You can register for German courses online in our shop and pay via Visa/Mastercard or PayPal. Customers who do not pay their course fee themselves can use our interactive booking form to register and provide us with a different billing address. Selecting your choice of course location will send the form to the course location of your choice.
