Learning German, getting to know Germany and experiencing German culture is especially successful in a city like Schwäbisch Hall. Life in smaller cities is typical for Germany, with far more people living there than in the big cities. Schwäbisch Hall, simply called "Hall" by the locals, is an idyllic small town with 41,000 inhabitants that derives its economic power from a strong trade and service sector. Companies from the real estate financing, solar and telecommunications technology sectors have their headquarters here. A wide range of schools and educational facilities attract many young people. The Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences operates a campus here. Course participants of the Goethe-Institut are always welcome as guest auditors to lectures and seminars. The Goethe-Institut discovered the charm and quality of life of Schwäbisch Hall at an early stage - since 1965, course participants have been learning the German language and culture at its best.

Culture

Schwäbisch Hall is characterized by an almost completely preserved historical townscape that creates an almost fairy-tale atmosphere. The city is known for its summer open-air plays on the grand staircase in front of St. Michael's and in the Globe Theater. The Hallisch-Fränkisches Museum and the Hohenlohe Open Air Museum vividly tell the history of the region and city since the Middle Ages. Old masters can be admired in the medieval Johanniterhalle. The private Kunsthalle Würth, a spectacular design by Danish architect Henning Larsen, is dedicated to modern art. In the spring, the international music scene meets for the JazzArtFestival in Schwäbisch Hall, while the cream of the German-speaking literature scene travels to the LiteraturLive days every two years. There is no question: in the architectural monuments of this old town, such as the Michaelskirche or the Comburg, an open-minded, young cultural life thrives.

Leisure

Whether on land, in the water or in the air: in Schwäbisch Hall and the surrounding area, a wide range of leisure activities are on offer, be it sports aviation, swimming, hiking or cycling. Afterwards you can strengthen yourself with culinary delicacies of the region Hohenlohe from organic farming. By the way: There are more traditional festivals and markets in Schwäbisch Hall than the year has months, such as the Summer Night Festival or the Festival of Lights, the historical cake and fountain festival, the oven festival in the open-air museum or the arts and crafts Christmas market.
