Save the Children

Save the Children is an independent organization for Children. Save the Children in Egypt works on:

• Maternal and Child Health: They work to ensure that mothers and infants survive and stay healthy during childbirth and early childhood in the most disadvantaged areas in Egypt where services are most lacking and the majority of deaths occur. Their approach recognizes the central role of local healthcare providers; they improve their skills and invest in improving local health care facilities. They also work with families to improve their health and nutrition practices; they raise their awareness and encourage them to adopt healthy behaviors and seek out quality maternal and neonatal care.
• Education: They work to ensure that children learn and develop with age-appropriate care and education.
• Protection: They work to protect children from abuse, neglect, exploitation, and violence. Their programs focus on the most vulnerable children while aiming for the safety and well-being of all children.
• Livelihoods: They support families and households in the most marginalized areas to reduce hunger and improve financial security. Most of their programs include an integrated livelihood component. They target mainly mothers and youth; they strengthen their financial and economic capacities, improve their skills, increase their access to financial resources and assist them in operating successful projects.

Awareness campaigns, provision of health care, trainings, promoting education, and child protection
