CARE International organization is an international alliance that includes 12 international organizations working in harmony to eliminate poverty. CARE International is a leading humanitarian anti-poverty organization. Its message focuses on serving individuals and families in the most disadvantaged communities. CARE encourages innovative solutions to humanitarian issues, facilitating constant change throughout. It also strengthens individuals' independence, provides economic opportunities, provides crisis management at times of emergency, influences policy making decisions on all levels, and fights all forms of discrimination, using local community aspirations as guidance.

Among some of CARE Sohag's various developmental programs are the following:
  1. An education program, which focuses on teachers, students, parents, and inspectors
  2. Natural resource programs to develop agriculture, irrigation, and sanitation
  3. Women's rights anti-violence program, which ensures gender equality through equal representation in laws and legislations, especially acts which preserve women's rights, as well as lawsuit-filing, law-activation, and economic empowerment
  4. Building organizational skills to support women from rural societies
