This organization aims to do the following:
  • Disseminate a human rights culture and empower citizens to use national tools to protect their human rights
  • Support disadvantaged societal subgroups, such as minorities and people with disabilities, in setting general policies and being an effective part of the decision-making process
  • Raising the cultural, social, political, and legal awareness of local community subgroups in general, and the marginalized and disadvantaged subgroups portions in particular
  • Empowering women to reach policy-making positions through constant skill-building and technical support
  • Spreading ideas of forgiveness, societal peace, and acceptance
  • Providing legal support to marginalized subgroups, as well as empowering them to fight for their economic, social, and political rights
  • Fighting all forms of violence in society, especially against women and children

Ongoing projects

Currently implementing the Development Embassies project, in collaboration with Plan International. The project helps develops the skills of youth from Al-Hawaweesh Village to help remedy the unemployment problem and legally empower youth to request fair working conditions. The Development Embassies project also positively influences the life of villagers as a whole through collaborations with entities and organizations and activities that serve the comprehensive development process (social, economic, cultural) in the village. The project completely covers all aspects of the targeted individuals and their families.

  • Disseminating human rights culture in Sohag                                                        
  • Anti-torture project (Himaya), in cooperation with The United Group (duration: six months)                                                                                                          
  • Developing the capabilities of civil society associations regarding political participation, in cooperation with Al-Hayah Afdal for Development and Training (project scope: Sohag - duration: three months)                                                         
  • A project on freedom of opinion and expression with the Arab Organization for Human Rights (project scope: Sohag, Luxor, and Aswan - duration: six months)       
  • A project on religious tolerance (Together, We Will Change Our Society), in cooperation with the National Company for Supporting Development and Counseling (project scope: Markaz Akmeem and Sohag - duration: one year)         
  • Civil education for girls project (Let's Learn about Our Rights). The project raises awareness about the importance of participating in public and political life, in cooperation with the Coptic Orphans Organization (project scope: Needa Village, Markaz Akhmeem, and Sohag - duration: one year)

Future projects

The association plans to solicit the help of volunteer lawyers to start legal consultancy services. The association plans to start with counselling for groups who need it the most, such as battered women, female breadwinners, and those in danger of having their basic human rights violated.
