The European Film Festival has been organized in Addis Ababa every year since 2001. The festival is a welcome break from Hollywood movies which are the most widely available in the city. The films are refreshingly good and give you a glimpse into what life and culture are like in Europe. Most of the films, except those in English, have subtitles so as to do away with language barriers.
The Goethe-Institut, National Theatre, Italian Cultural Institute, British Council and Alliance Ethio-Française will be the venues hosting the festival, and as always entrance is free.
