OPEN CALL for two thematic proposals for our library at Goethe-Institut Finnland

The Goethe-Institut Finnland is looking for your ideas for our German media library, a public space in Kamppi for cultural encounters, exchange and engagement.

Our open call invites you to submit proposals on how to rearrange, reshape and rethink the space and media of our library around a topic and target group that is meaningful to you and to the current times. We appreciate existing ties to communities in Finland. In your proposal, please include your ideas on whom you want to be collaborating with and to reach.

The library of the Goethe-Institut Finnland contains about 5000 media (books, films, magazines), and a large online library. For more info, see website of the library.
The thematic focus can also relate to our topics. At the moment, we are focusing on: artificial intelligence and bias, climate justice and Indigenous rights, representation in children’s literature.

We offer free shelf-space for media related to the topic of the proposal, the opportunity to reorganise our own media and to develop events.
To implement your proposal, you will collaborate with our team at the Goethe-Institut and receive help whenever needed.

The two selected proposals will receive a grant of €2000 to develop the concept in 2021.
The implementation phase is in 2022 and the time frame is six months per project.

The deadline for proposals is 18.11.2021.
Please submit your proposal and relevant information about yourself via e-mail to: alexandra.stang@goethe.de
