Since 1998, promoting German culture in Tampere has been the task of the German Cultural Centre (Deutsches Kulturzentrum), which is financially supported by the City of Tampere, the Finnish-German Association (Finnisch-Deutscher Verein) and the Goethe-Institut. Besides cultural events, the cultural centre offers advanced training for German teachers in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut in Helsinki.
