Kristiina Drews is an award-winning literary translator who has translated fiction for nearly 40 years. In addition to the works of Lucia Berlin, she has translated into Finnish books by Ali Smith, Margaret Atwood, Vladimir Nabokov and many more.
Antje Rávik Strubel is a German author and translator, based in Potsdam. She has written eight works of fiction, essayistic travel books and has been rewarded with several literary prizes. Recently, she received the Preis der Literaturhäuser 2019. Strubel taught at the German Institute for Literature in Leipzig and was the first writer in residence to be invited by the Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies in 2012. She has translated works by Joan Didion and Lucia Berlin from English into German. In August/ September she spends four weeks in Helsinki as writer in residence invited by the Goethe-Institut Finnland.
