Children need to see themselves in stories, illustrations and narrations. Does the current children’s literature in Germany and Finland mirror the more and more diverse societies we live in, or does it make part of its young population invisible? How to offer every child reading experiences that represent their lives? How to motivate a change in the childrens' book markets? How to include other possible narratives of voices and images underrepresented? What good examples can we share? What can different actors in the field - authors, illustrators, publishers, libraries and readers - learn from each other?
