Programme at the Night of Science
The Night of Science is a block party for science and research. It is celebrated annually in Kruununhaka, Helsinki. The next event takes place on Thursday the 14th of January 2021. The program of the Night of Science is made by many different organizations and actors and the multiple events offer science and research in many different forms. All events are free of charge!
The event
We rely on audiovisual media for entertainment and information but what if you could not access that media due to restrictions in hearing or sight, or language barriers? Can technology help by transforming speech into writing, visuals into language and by translating languages? This panel reflects on media accessibility from a technological perspective. We discuss current technologies, unsolved problems and potential developments.
