The 2019 residency has a special focus on writers from Europe and in particular from the 27 EU countries. At a moment of huge change and uncertainty in Britain’s relationship with Europe, this residency looks to engage with a new generation of artists across the continent. And to make a statement about the Royal Court’s commitment to keeping deep international partnerships alive. The residency is a three-week programme that involves writers spending time at the Royal Court, meeting British artists, attending workshops, seeing and discussing theatre and developing a new play during their time in London. It will take place during June and July of this year.
Das Goethe-Institut London unterstützt die Teilnahme der beiden aufstrebenden Künstlerinnen Enis Maci und Maryam Zaree.
Enis Maci born in 1993, studied Literary Writing and Cultural Sociology in Leipzig and London (London School of Economics and Political Science). The plays have been performed, among other venues, at Schauspielhaus Wien and Schauspiel Leipzig. In 2018/19, Enis Maci will be writer-in-residence at Nationaltheater Mannheim.
Maryam Zaree was born in Tehran and grew up in Frankfurt am Main.
