Summer Residency at the Royal Court Theatre
The summer residency programme is a key part of the Royal Court Theatre’s work with international playwrights and has seen many participants going on to become major international voices. The residency runs from end of June until mid July. The 2019 residency has a special focus on writers from Europe and in particular from the 27 EU countries. At a moment of huge change and uncertainty in Britain’s relationship with Europe, this residency looks to engage with a new generation of artists across the continent. And to make a statement about the Royal Court’s commitment to keeping deep international partnerships alive. The residency is a three-week programme that involves writers spending time at the Royal Court, meeting British artists, attending workshops, seeing and discussing theatre and developing a new play during their time in London. It will take place during June and July of this year.
The Goethe-Institut London is delighted to support the participation of up and coming playwrights Enis Maci and Maryam Zaree.
