DLL - Deutsch Lehren Lernen®

Deutsch Lehren Lernen® (DLL) is the Goethe-Institut’s practical continuing education and professional development series for DaF and DaZ teachers of German (primary, secondary, and adult education). The Goethe-Institut London offers regional DLL courses for teachers within Northwestern Europe.

Up-skilling course Goethe-Institut/Sonja Tobias A course consisting of 10 sessions is offered as after-school inset (Twilight Sessions, 90 min each).
The aims of the sessions are to equip non-specialist language teaching staff with:
  • an understanding of and familiarity with the Goethe-Institut’s Felix & Franzi Key Stage 2 course
  • an understanding of basic vocabulary, structure and grammar of the German language
  • models of and ideas for good language teaching practice
  • the confidence to deliver German to Key Stage 2 pupils in school

The course enables teachers to deliver German language lessons in an age-appropriate, knowledgeable, informed, varied, confident and enthusiastic way.
The sessions are offered free of charge. A minimum group size of 6 teachers is required. Teachers can be from one school or from different schools. Please note that participation in all sessions is expected.

Here you will find information and useful links for German Foreign Language Assistants in the UK. 

The information is primarily targeted at assistants on the PAD (Pädagogischer Austauschdienst) exchange programme but other assistants are welcome to it as well. 
If you are teaching German and want to improve your language skills, then come along to our German courses and receive a discount. All you need is a letter of confirmation from your school that you are currently teaching German.

If you are teacher in Scotland, please contact the Glasgow Language Office to enrol.
